Lines Going to Cockpit
Lines in the cockpit are shown in the diagram below.
Note that on some boats, the reef pennants don't extend all the way back into the
cockpit. Rather, they are configured, as on a J-24, where they are pulled out of
an opening in the boom near the mast. There are cleats for them near this
opening, under the boom.
Jib Sheets
For Jib sails, the sheets go through the front fairleads, either between or inside
the shrouds, through a block, and around the large winches on the sides of the cockpit.
Cleating is as on the J-24 (there is a cleat near the winch).
For Genoas, the sheets go outside the shrouds, through the back fairleads, and again
around the large winches.
