Sailing the J-30

The J-30

The J-30 is a racing/cruiser sloop, like the J-24, but six feet longer. Hull speed is about 9 knots, and it can easily reach over 8 knots in 15-20 knot winds. Inside, there is room for 6 people to sleep, there is a sink, a small stove, and a refrigerator. There is also a small dining table, and a small toilet.

The J-30 has an inboard diesel engine. The jib is a furling jib. The cockpit is a bit small. As with the J-24, it is possible to sail the J-30 with a crew of 3 or even 2.
