Although the rabbits, previous_month, and
penultimate_month functions capture one line of reasoning about
rabbits, the previous_month and penultimate_month functions
are so short that most programmers would incorporate the expressions in
those functions into the definition of rabbits, as shown in
Segment 234. In this chapter, however, all three functions are
retained, because, as separate functions, they provide a simple example of
a situation for which you must use one or more function prototypes.
