Wei Fang is a final year PhD candidate in the Spoken Language Systems Group at MIT CSAIL, advised by Dr. James Glass. He holds a Master’s degree from MIT, where he worked on automatic fact verification and speech synthesis under Dr. James Glass. He obtained his Bachelor’s degree at National Taiwan University (NTU), where he worked on speech and language understanding under Prof. Hung-Yi Lee and Prof. Lin-Shan Lee, and computer vision problems under Prof. Yu-Chiang Frank Wang. Wei has worked on NLP and language modeling during research internships at MIT-IBM Watson AI Lab in Cambridge, MA, and twice with the NLP team at Apple in Cupertino, CA. His current research explores augmented LLMs, including but not limited to improving LLM agents' retrieval, planning and tool-using capabilities.
