Sendmail meets Erlang

I saw a link to this article in the Lambda Weblog

this morning:

It recounts the experience of a group of developers used to working in C
and Perl,
who decide to switch to Erlang for a distributed application.

While Erlang doesn't qualify as a lightweight language,
I think the article is of interest because it tells in brief
the costs and benefits of moving a shop from C to
another language.

In part they were able to convince management by promising
faster development time.
