Segger is a tool for the analysis of 3D density maps obtained using cryo-electron microscopy. It can be used to easily segment density maps into regions corresponding to molecular components such as proteins, and to quickly fit molecular structures into density maps.
Density maps are produced by methods such as single particle reconstruction (SPR) and tomography. For more on cryo-electron microscopy see EMDataBank.org.
