Which reminds me: Anyone who wants to weigh "syntax" as a significant
factor preventing Lisp/Python/fill-in-the-blank from taking the world
by storm ought to learn CFML (ColdFusion Markup Language). The
horror! The horror!
And yet, Allaire/Macromedia seem to be making decent money off of
ColdFusion. My wife observed that the .cfm Web pages she's visited
are, on average, a lot more responsive than the .asp or .jsp pages, so
maybe they actually have a quality product behind the money. But the
syntax ... it's the only computer language I ever learned that made me
long for C++.
