Chapter 51:

How to Develop Your Own Layout Manager

Usually, you can arrange GUI elements as you please using the border layout you learned about in Segment 727, the grid layout you learned about in Segment 919, and the various layouts described in AppendixE. As you learn in this chapter, you also can define your own layout manager to handle especially tricky situations. You may, if you wish, skip to Chapter 52; the apparatus explained in this chapter is not used elsewhere in this book.
