Annapurna South and Hiunchuli tower over the charming village of Ghandruk. It’s a popular stop along the route to Annapurna Base Camp, so it’s not surprising to find many guests houses and new buildings with modern touches. This said, the village retains much of its traditional look and ways: buildings with stone walls and slate roofs, the farming of crops such as rice, millet, corn, and barley, and the transportation of goods by porters, horses, and mules.
